How We Started

3RD Gear Customs and Consulting is a locally owned automotive garage that specializes in custom paint and restoration finishes. Its a common story of when a child falls in love with cars blah blah blah... Its the same thing. I found myself having to touch and stare at paint and details at a young age and began self teaching in my 20s. In 2001 I began working with an amazing custom car paint in Austin Texas and picked up quickly. I found myself starting to distant myself from my corporate career with Dell Computer and did everything in power to open a small shop, tighten my skills and become great at painting and designing cars. In 2010 I opened 3RD Gear Customs and Consulting. Every car shown on this site has been sprayed and finished on my own with help brought in as needed. Family owned we take pride in servicing true car enthusiasts with a realistic budget. There is not a job too large or too small that we wont be able to handle. From a simple respray to freshen that old Caprice Classic or if you need a shop to provide SEMA type quality, I'm your man. We will gladly finish your forgotten project or make your current favorite 10 steps above the rest without the need to refinance your home. 3RD Gear Customs and Consulting is low volume and accepts all forms of payments.
